Peter Biermeier is the Operations and Planning Section Chief for the Bureau of Parks & Recreation and has been in that position since 2000. Peter has a degree from the UW-Eau Claire in Urban Geography and began his career as the Assistant City Planner in Eau Claire. Prior to joining State Parks, Peter was also the Community Development Director for Ayres & Associates and President of two recreational planning and development firms that were headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin.  Peter has two children, a daughter who graduated from Bethel University in 2008 and a son attending UW-Madison. Peter is an avid cyclist and is seeking out a one-day, 200-mile ride for 2009 to test his out-of-office skills. He also loves boating, hiking, fishing, hunting, and any kind of football game. Peter lives in Fitchburg with his son and five bicycles.

Dan Schuller is the Director for the Parks and Recreation program. He is responsible for the overall administration and policy implementation for the State Parks, Trails, and Southern Forest program. After receiving his B.S. in Natural Resources from UW-Madison, he worked in a number of state parks including Devil's Lake, Blue Mounds, and the Buckhorn-Roche-A Cri Work Unit. He then moved with his family to the Rhinelander area and worked as the first Land Services Supervisor in the Northern Region.  Dan then served as the Regional Land Leader for the Northern Region until he returned to the State Parks program as the Director. As a Madison native he has adapted to the city again, but he still lives in Tomahawk with his wife, Jane, and commutes each week back to the great North.  Dan enjoys many outdoor pursuits including fishing, hiking, and hunting. Together he and Jane are also beginning Birders.
