We need your help in being a strong friend to the spaces that are critical to Wisconsin’s identity. There are 50 state parks, 15 state forests, 44 state trails, and 9 recreational areas. Each are influential in bolstering the state’s outdoor recreation, tourism revenue, economic growth for communities, and the most effective health care for physical and mental well-being. With increasing visitation (nearly 21 million in 2025), these locales continue to see reduced funding. Friends groups are doing everything possible to help keep up with the growing demands and usage of the properties.
We need your support through educating your friends and neighbors, and especially your district legislators. Download our Friends toolkit to campaign for a better sustainable funding model for the Wisconsin State Park System.
