Wisconsin Conservation Congress (WCC) Resource Page

The Wisconsin Conservation Congress (WCC) s a unique, citizen-led advisory body that works closely with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) and the Natural Resources Board. The WCC allows residents to:

  • Provide input on natural resource policies
  • Propose new ideas and solutions
  • Influence decisions impacting public lands, wildlife, and outdoor recreation

The Congress is made up of elected delegates from each county who represent local conservation interests at the state level.

The WCC Spring Hearing is a statewide event held annually in all 72 counties—typically in April. This year, it is taking place on Monday, April 13th from 6pm – 9pm. There will be a online survey format available April 13-15.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Vote on conservation-related questions and advisory topics
  • Share your perspective on natural resource issues
  • Engage directly with local delegates and WDNR staff

Submit In-Person Resolution at Spring Hearing

For the first time ever, the WCC will also accept public resolutions submitted during in-person county hearings—a powerful way to bring forward new ideas. And this creates a window of opportunity to submit a resolution to seek more sustainable, longterm funding for the properties that we, as Friends groups, work hard for.

We have created a template so you don’t have to do the work. We encourage you to use our template. You can learn more about the submission process here: Resolution Submission Process

In-Person Submission Requirements: Submit two (2) copies of resolution at your county hearing.
